Lyra Sweater designed by The Knitter's Yarn
This is one of my favourite knits and always gets compliments whenever I wear it. I am currently on my third colour way as it is so versatile to wear and an easy knit to enjoy whilst watching TV.
The body is knitted in quarters and then you create a textured seam at the centre back and centre front with a double crochet stitch joining the pieces right sides facing. Side seams and sleeves are joined with mattress stitch.
All quarters are knitted straight up and the sweater has dropped shoulders. The sleeves have a cable detail running up the centre but the pattern offers alternative stocking stitch sleeves if preferred.
The sweater is completed with a back ‘belt’ detail attached with 2 buttons and a matching single button at the front adds further style.
The sweater pattern is for a cropped version but can be adjusted to any length required - just remember to order more wool.
I love cashmere tweed from Rowan which comes in 25g balls and is 80% virgin wool combined with 20% cashmere. Lovely to wear and lovely to knit with. The pattern requires 14 balls of yarn.
Our Kit comes with 14 balls of Rowan cashmere tweed, pattern, a project bag and needles (if required). Extra length will require extra balls which can be found here.
The crochet hook and buttons need to be purchased separately.
